The idea for roots&routes was born right on the shimmering waters of Shkodra Lake. As our region began to experience a real tourism boom, bringing travelers from all over the world to admire the stunning local landscapes, it became clear that visitors were looking for more than just a beautiful view—they wanted meaningful, engaging activities. Exploring the lake by stand-up paddleboard felt like the perfect way to connect people with nature, offering an active, peaceful, and immersive way to experience the pristine waters firsthand.
Turning this vision into reality took a blend of dedication and a leap of faith. After working as a certified tour guide and navigating the local tourism landscape for quite some time, the natural next step was to craft a dedicated local experience from the ground up. Through the vital support of a grant program combined with a significant amount of self-investment, the foundation was finally laid. It was all about taking years of professional experience in guiding visitors and channeling it into a specialized, high-quality adventure on the water.
Today, the boards are on the water and we are officially live!
